Thank you so much! I’ve definitely had my fair share of crazy, unforgettable experiences in Mumbai, and I’m planning to share them one post at a time...there’s so much to tell! Honestly, hearing this from one of my favourite writers means the world to me. 🩷
Beautiful and poignant story which reminds me so much of my beautiful hometown in my beloved country of South Africa.
I’m 63, and despite travelling to some overseas countries, I always felt I lived in the very best place on Earth.
I’m doing a life sentence in Johannesburg South Africa since December 1999.
I want to go home so badly. I’ve got a heart-sized hole in my body and brain and soul for the seascapes of Simonstown and Fish Hoek, Kommetjie and Muizenberg, Misty Cliffs, Wilderness…..don’t get me started lol.
Respect and kindness and love to you all who yearn for a place which is near like mine but far beyond my wildest dreams right now.
I loved reading about this part of your life. I think I get how you mean too. Some experiences make you love the way you are through them. I’d never really heard about Mumbai before, besides just the name, so it’s also cool to be more aware of it, it’s now creeping onto my “gotta get there someday” list
This was a beautiful story, Anna. I would read a whole book about your experiences in this city 🩷

Yay! I'm so excited to read them!! 💞 oh my goodness, well thank you, that means so much to me too because you're also one of my faves! 🥹
find the “place” that feels like home is its own magic. the sonoran desert found me in that way. wherever i go, this is home.
a few other geographies are magic to me — uluru, serpent mound, grass mountain, muizenberg.
only one is really home.
Muizenberg? Oh my goodness, a true believer. Respect 💙

And that’s okay.
